Eligibility Requirements
- A minimum of 36 months' experience installing natural slate roof systems, including installing underlayment, metal valleys and pipe penetration flashing, slate layout, exposure and slate fastening, are required. Most recent experience must be within the past 12 months.
- Passing score on an online, multiple-choice exam
- Employer validation of work experience, skills and knowledge

Hands-on Skills Assessment
This assessment is conducted using a mockup. A Qualified Assessor guides the candidate through specific tasks. Qualified Assessors are roof system experts and independently contracted by installers and roofing contractors to administer hands-on skills assessments. Find an approved Qualified Assessor.
